Planned Task Observations (PTO)

The Planned Task Observations (PTO) course at Waco Training Academy equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct effective task‑based safety observations that support proactive risk management and continuous improvement in the workplace. This training focuses on systematic observation techniques, hazard recognition, and the use of structured feedback to promote safer work practices across all levels of an organisation.

Throughout the programme, learners will explore essential principles of PTO including how to prepare for an observation, what to look for during task execution, how to record findings accurately, and how to provide constructive feedback that encourages positive change.
Emphasis is placed on cultivating strong communication skills, safety awareness, and consistency in observation practices to help reduce unsafe behaviours and prevent incidents.
